It was in November 1983 that Shambu first graced the pages of Tinkle. Written by Luis Fernandes and illustrated by Vasant Halbe, this three pager set the tone for all the Shambu stories that followed. From Shambu’s unbelievable good fortune to his general braggadacio, this story captured it all. What it also did (and was rarely repeated in the future) was give a third person a sneak peek into Shambu’s true nature.
