Gajju Ghoda nervously chewed on his hooves as Officers Rimba Rhino and Bholu Bhalu examined the crime scene. Gajju’s antiques shop had been robbed in the most ingenious fashion. All the antique clocks in his shop, which were up for sale, had chimed together at noon, causing a cacophony. Gajju and his customers had run from the shop, unable to bear the noise. When they returned, Gajju found that his cash register had been emptied. Someone had deliberately cleared out the shop so they could steal the money. The police rounded up the three customers who had been in the shop that day—Susan Sarrp, Rameez Rabbit and Amina Aanai. Susan Sarrp sent her lawyer, Haneef Hansa, to speak to the police on her behalf.
Rameez Rabbit and Amina Aanai, on the other hand, didn’t have lawyers, so they spoke to Officers Rhino and Bhalu themselves.
The police finally turned to Gajju himself. Why had all the clocks chimed at the same time?
The police knew that the fact that they were animals was important. Each one had different abilities, but someone had one advantage over the rest, which enabled them to rob Gajju’s shop.
Who was it and how did you figure it out?
