Many days later, hiding behind a thick bush, Kitaanu wished he had narrow eyes like Rogaanu. It wasn’t easy to spot them.

To the north of Annukulpuram was the kingdom was Batterji.

The bugger bacteria.

Always multiplying, they had the largest population of all the kingdoms. And one of their strategic objectives was to destroy Annukulpuram. The moskit larvae were high risk targets. One battalion of moskit troopers was always deployed at the northern frontier.

Just like them, the bacteria were also allergic to cleanliness. The moskit battalion wore special kits and continuously sanitized the borders to prevent the bacteria from infiltrating. Maharaja Yatoosh was very protective of Kitaanu. But when duty called, the moskit had to march ahead. So, the northern frontier was a wise choice of deployment. Immune to hand sanitizers, he could command well.

His soldiers were unaware of his secret superpower though. In their eyes, his habit of patrolling at odd hours, without a safety kit, was sheer bravery. Using the special goggles-cum-microscopic binoculars that Rogaanu had recently designed, he scanned the area. Few spiral bacteria on the west, a group of rod and sphere bacteria on the east.

He signalled his troops to sanitize the western region as a diversionary tactic. And he leapt towards the east, his pack of hand sanitizers ready. Some thirty minutes later, the mission seemed complete. However, Kitaanu wanted to be sure. So he ordered an attack by the reserve aerial troops, who sprayed boiling water around the bushes from mini fighter jets to lay waste to any surviving enemies.

Mission complete, the change of guard happened and Kitaanu decided to walk to his tent for some rest. Just as he neared the space, a scent and buzzing vibration of wings grew strong.

He recognized the frequency.
