Once I ate a peppercorn 

With my morning breakfast

My mom said I will have fire on my tongue 

But I did not listen and chewed it in my mouth 

Like bubble gum. 

And I chewed it all up, 

But it was too late 

My mouth caught on fire 

So we used the extinguisher   

And I now have the answer 

That peppercorn  

Isn’t at all sweet like sweet corn  

Hahaha!
