It was the year 1785. In Bangalore, King Ramakrishna was admiring his newborn son.

One day, Ramakrishna went to the market. There he saw a man killing people by attacking them from behind. People around were scared. “Who is that?” Ramakrishna said.

“Bala,” someone told him.

Ramakrishna was angry at Bala and went to him. Before Bala could kill another person, he held him by his throat. “Only cowards attack others from behind.”

Bala dropped his weapon in fear. Ramakrishna let him go and he ran away.

Bala was humiliated. He wanted to take revenge for his insult and decided to kill Ramakrishna.

When he reached home, he saw a robber. He moved to attack him, but the robber fell to Bala’s feet. “Please! Don’t harm me. I also want revenge from Ramakrishna.”

“What is your name?” Bala asked the robber.

“Deva,” the thief replied.

The two men shook hands. “We will kill Ramakrishna together,” they said.

Unfortunately, both of them didn’t know where Ramakrishna lived, so they decided to wait for him at the market. But their enemy never came.

Bala and Deva had to wait to take revenge for fifteen years. In 1810, Ramakrishna was in his garden when they saw him there. Deva slowly went behind the man and stabbed him. “Aaahhhh!” Ramakrishna shouted. His son, Ram, saw this. “Father!” he shouted. Angry, Ram tackled Deva and killed him.

He looked up to see Bala running away on a chariot. “Stop!” Ram shouted and ran to his stables. He took his horse and chased Bala. “You cannot escape me!” Ram shouted at Bala.

When his horse was right beside the chariot, Ram picked up Bala by his throat, just like his father had done many years ago, and killed him.

Later, Ram respectfully laid his father to rest, thanking him for his bravery.
